If you have the fortune package installed (I don't think Mandrake has one,
but distros such as slackware do . . .) it should give you that fortune
when someone telnets in as well as local log in.  If you use webadmin you
can edit which file (yes, there is another way with WU-FTP, but I don't
know off the top of my head) will be displayed when FTPing in, usually
'.message' or '.welcome' are default, both in /home/ftp/.
