In regards to the daemon dying. I've had the same experience with xfs (from
both the 3.3.6 and 4.0 XFree86 packages) and any initscripts upgrade to the
5 or greater version. When I go back to the 4.97 initscripts everthing
(xfs) and X both work fine. I've tried several (limited) things and cannot
identify what's killing xfs. I haven't seen any messages here in any of the
messages so I assumed one of my packages was incorrect or broken, but after
a complete reinstall and upgrading to current on all packages xfs again
dies on init. Going back to 4.97 initscripts again fixed the problem.
Anyone out there have some enlightenment (no pun intended) on this problem?

Hi,
there are 2 problems with anacron-2.3-1mdk.
First, it seems that the daemon just dies after the start.
/etc/rc.d/init.d/anacron status reports that it's dead put the lock is
still
there.
The other problem is the depency of anacron to mailx, as it calls /bin/mail
to report it's error log to root.
