Package: Bootdisk / dc395_trm
Version: Mandrake Linux 7.1 (Since 7.1 Beta 1) to Mandrake Linux 7.2 Beta 1
Severity: critical

Installation of Mandrake 7.2 (And all versions of Mandrake 7.1) are not
possible, when using a Tekram DC395 SCSI Controller with the Tekram
S1040 Chipset. The version of the dc395_trm is updated by moving from
Mandrake Linux 7.0 release to 7.1 beta 1.

Since 7.1 beta 1 and all later releases and even Mandrake Linux 7.2 Beta 1
includes this newer dc395_trm modules, which makes timeouts while accessing
the scsi bus.

The older version of dc395_trm was running fine.
The new version of dc395_trm, which is included since 7.1 beta 1 is from
1999, but the author of dc395_trm made huge bugfixes since end of 1999
and suggest to use the current version 1.27 (made 00/05/24). The new
version is heavly testes and running fine.
