Yes, i know this is not the current version... I've just finished a 7.1 install on a HP Omnibook, with a PCMCIA network card. Installation tried to use dec4x5 module, whose insertion failed. Manually choosing was not possible, as i didn't knew the type of the card. So, i couldn't access the LAN settings. Once installation finished, etherdrake determined the right module to use was tulip.o, and not dec4x5, and asserted the card was correctly configured. But i found no way to retrieve the configuration-time LAN setting utility, so i have to install redhat tools. Once configured, all network activation failed, until i removed /lib/modules/2.2-15/modules.deps and ran depmod -a again. For resuming : - module choice during installation not compliant with module choice from etherdrake - no way of using mandrake specific network configuration after installation - etherdrake should have recreated modules.dep by itself. Hopes this can be useful. -- Guillaume Rousse Iremia - Universit de la Runion Plus petites units de mesure - de longueur : le millimtre - de volume : le millilitre - d'intelligence : le militaire
