Hard code your IP address in linux.   I used an IP address outside the range
of what sygate has assigning right to.  Until I did that, I had no outside
connection outbound.   Sysgate has just  released a version that works with
Linux.  The new vresion Sygate 4.0 states it will work with Linux, but have
not tried it.
