My System is like the following:
AMD K6-2/500 , 128 MB Ram, IDE Harddrive with Win95 Partition
and 2,7 Gig free for Linux (Behind 1024Cyl edge).
A Tekram DC395 PCI SCSI Controller with a Yamaha CDRW (ID2)
and a Plextor 40TSI (ID3).
I used the Mandrake 7.2beta 2 CD's plus the CDROM.IMG from
Cooker, made on Friday 15.September 2000
Phase one (Bootdisk)

Bugs:
When Choosing "expert" and selecting a SCSI controller, the
CDROM's will not be mounted. This is known by GC, and will
be fixed.
Idea/Wish:
In the "Non-expert" mode, you can choose the CD-Drive now.
This is really great and works (Tested). I nice then would be
to give the User more information than just " Choose SR0 / SR1 ".
Nice things would be:
a) An Autosense Mode ( as third point or so )
b) More informations on SR0 and SR1 ( Something like
SR0 - CDRW, Yamaha, 6416
SR1 - CDRom, Plextor, TSI 40i
( SCSI-Device - Type, Vendor , Modell )
The informations from b) can be found easiely from the sr_mod.o
I think.
Phase Two (Everything after loading from the CD's):

Bugs:
a) The Tekram DC395 Driver is not selectable in Phase two.
Eventually it's autoloaded, but since it was selectable in all
older Releases, I think it's missing here.
b) When choosing CUPS at the Printer-config, it looks like the
System need's CD1 and locks. Is there a Popup Window
needed, which tells the User to insert the CD1 again or
should CUPS stuff moved to CD2 ?
c) when choosing LP at the Printer-config and the printer
is turned off, the system locks up.
Language Stuff/ low prio bugs:
a)The Helpscreen (Bottom frame) cannot show german
'�� - �� - ��'. The characters works on all other Screens.
Eventually fix it or change the texts like
� -> Ae , � -> oe etc.
b)at the Left Frame there are some cutted german words
Change following words:
- ausw�hle -> ausw�hlen
- hinzuf�ge -> hinzuf�gen
c) At the Network settings most menu points are in german,
but: "Configure local net" and "disable network" are in
english. Evtl. change the to german too.
d) The Final " Congratulations" is in english too. Evtl change
that to German.
e) The Timebar texts are in partly in english.
eventually change minutes -> Minuten , seconds -> Sekunden.
All these Language Issues are no serious things, but when someone
will test your new Mandrake version it looks amateur-like when there
are miss-spells in texts of Menupoints mixed in german and english.
The last thing is that I have seen several rpm's which had german
and english descriptions, but I think it's not needed, since the
just flashes on the screen quickly, when installing it.
Please reply me, so that I can see that the right developers
have seen and ack'ed my email.
