Upgrade PAM from cooker -- I had the same problem after I upgraded KDE2 and
couldn't log in.

I had the same problem -- didn't know what the problem is/was, so I
reinstalled and then decided... naw, I don't need to upgrade RPM just to have
it break ;-)
