FYI.
I tried to get the screensavers to work under KDE with no success. I
downloaded the sourcecode for xscreensaver and the installation goes
south because of some damned thing with gnome. Anyhow that is something
you might want to fix. Also, whenever I use gnome and run enlightenment
as my window manager and let my computer go into power saving mode it
won't wake up. It wakes up fine with all of the others that I have
tried, so I doubt that it is a hardware problem on my end.
Also, you might want to try running all of the programs from the KDE
console. I have found that many of them don't work.
