The only thing you can see about this problem in ddebug.log is :

Also now I choose grub and I found lilo, it seems that installer call lilo,
install.sh and another time lilo. About problem that I reported you can see
two entries :
old3EDT_linux
officeEDT
These are entries that during install I try to change name (usually I modify
names adding on old names entries also kernel version...)

-------------------------------------
Obviously same thing in menu.lst of grub....
This seems happened because there are initrd from hackkernels and If I try
edit only name during install I'had also forced by installer an initrd entry
not deletable during installer, but only after.... for that I suggested
possibility of deleting/editing initrd entry during installer update or a
choosable "empty" or "none" selection in the initrd listbox...

I hope I'm clear....;o)
(I attach ddebug.log only for Pixel as requested .... and lilo.conf and
menu.lst)

NOTE
I remaind you that default dpms on , may be dangerous for some laptops (like
mine...;o) because LCD stay off if it goes in suspend or off state and need
switch off to recovery...;o/

NOTE
I noted that there is delay in sound activation.... when I start kde during
splash screen I don't heard kde sound and if I try start xmms I must wait one
or two minutes before it begins to work normally (it gives error as if
somethingh was locked...) (this appened only in last two installations and I
try only on laptop (this is why I try a fresh install on laptop...;o) (on SMP
it works ok bat it has still an old install ...2.2.17-17mdksmp and relative
cooker version).
cu and good work...;o)
