Hi all,
I tested the latest cooker and I'm very pleased with it, I can say that
is really impressive. It is now my main workhorse ;).
Few small problems and questions:
1. In KDE Networking/Other menu there is an application called Plotter
that crash constantly in every version I test it, it opens some kind of
terminal window, scroll quick some error messages and dies. There is
what can be captured:
QPixmap::convertToImage: Cannot convert a null pixmap
[ A lot of these snipped]
QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image
QPixmap::convertFromImage: Cannot convert a null image
QGArray::at: Absolute index 0 out of range
KCrash: crashing.... crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = kgrapher path = <unknown>
2. What in the world is httpd-perl and why is starting along with
Apache, where I should RTFM ???
3. /var/log/autologin.log has some VERY strange permisions, is
executable !!!
4. DraksFont fails at start up (no message, just say it failed in log
), probabely is not configured, but how I can configure it ???
5. I belive that sometime at the first run after install a depmod -a
has to be issued, if not, the log is fulling with "Note:
/etc/modules.conf is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/modules.dep". In my case a depmod -a cured it.
6. Configuration files: /etc/mc.global and /etc/gatos.conf have
incorect permisions also, they are executable !!!
7. The user choices in Development/Expert seem to be ignored, I
definately remember that I unselected egcs, telnet server, hack-kernel
and gated and still they were installed.
All in all is more stable than certain RH distribution ;) and is here
to stay on my machines, thanks all and keep on the good work.
