[Cooker] hack kernel newbie question

I've got 7.2 running right now.  When I did the initial install I also
installed the hackkernel.  Now there is an update and I would like to
give it a try.  However, I see to remember reading that updating the
kernel via rpm isn't straight forward.

Can someone guide me.
