Of course I tried with all KDE2 (betas and RCs), upgrading from KDE-1.1.2
My opinion: DO NOT TRY!!!!
I had to completely unistall kde-2 and reinstall kde-1 packages remembering the
others 1000000 dependencies like "menu", "mandrake-desktop" etc. etc.
Surely I'm not a great developer, but I think it's quite hard to realise such a
great upgrade. For example, to use GNOME after upgrading KDE, I had to enter in
runlevel 3, change the file /etc/sysconfig/desktop by hand and use "startx".
Another thing: when I enter in init 5, no passwd are recognized!!! Don't ask me
why... each time I locked the screen I had to reboot the system with the
"reset" button on the case... lemme thanks reiserfs for my data! ;)
