[Cooker] xinetd vs inetd

I understand xinetd as a complete replacement for inetd + tcpd. Inetd is
part of netkit package, along with ping, and tcpd package is netkit
dependant. So i can't properly remove inetd and tcpd from my system
without removing also ping... Should not this last program be moved to
another package ?
