Hi Juan Luis,
after I read about your problem with MusicMatch and after I
experienced another problem I sent this letter to www.musicmatch.com:
Dear Sirs/Madams,
I downloaded yesterday MusicMatch beta1 for Linux. I was
excited when I heard that your product had been ported to
Linux, because I used it as my favorite player/ripper/burner
when I was MS Windows user.
Installation went well, but when I tried to record a song from
CD to hard drive MusicMatch died. OK, it is a betta software,
and I tried to launch it again. Nothing happened. I tried to
reload and even reboot my machine, but still nothing happened.
OK, it is a beta software, and I uninstalled it, and tried to reinstall.
Nothing happened. Why I'm writing this E-mail to your web-master?
Because:
1. there is no E-mail provided on your web-site to contact your
support departement.
2. there is a some kind of form provided on your web-site but it
is written in Java.
3. for your information Linux browers doesn't support java very well.
4. how can I report bugs in your software if I even can not launch program
(and you say that reporting bugs is available through MusicMatch which
means that MusicMatch should be running to report a bug)?
5. how can you charge people for beta software (MusicMatch Plus for Linux
is also beta)?
6. as a Linux user I know that using Wine is not a good solution for
porting windows programs to Linux (lack of performance and strange
behaviour in Linux GUI environment)
7. my suggestion is that you use QT to port your exellent application to
Linux,
8. or, which is much better, go opensource and make money selling services.
Best regards,
