Yes, OK.

Yes, OK. I like your xpp dialog box.

Acroread Print gives a title=Printer, Message=Printing Error dialog
box, without giving any clue what the error was (IMHO, sufficient
cause for programmer summary dismisal).

Acroread Page Setup correct at A4, but the page size did not alter
from 8.5 x 11 inches, which is US letter size. USA locale
parochialism wins again! PS Level 2 selected by default.

Manually changing page size to 8.27 x 11.69 inches and attempting the
menu Print made A4 printing from acroread all work nicely.

Not tried. What do you mean "In Acrobat reader"?

Not tried. Konqueror and ps & pdf viewer display the file directly
just fine, but won't print it (same symptoms as Konqueror below,
except Environment Variable now shows "PRINTER").

Re: Konqueror:

Still won't print a pdf file rendered in its right hand window,
producing the same error dialog box as above. What should the View >
Print > Setup dialog box show for Printer Name (lp), Spooler command
(empty), and Environment Variable (empty)?

Thanks for the help.
