I installed 7.2 using hd.img. During the beta, I was doing MandrakeUpdate and had problems doing updates so I was pleasantly surprised that some of my problems have gone away after doing a FULL install. As with any beta testing, updating beta software sometimes does not make sense. Anyway, after installing, and some very initial testing, I have encountered a few problems. Sound install via harddrake still not working, however, running sndconfig set my SB 16 card correctly and I have sound. Maybe in the next version, during the setup process, sndconfig or a drake version could be called to set it up. You already have it for networks, modems and monitors. Sound would be great. As a newbie, going through an install and THEN doing addition stuff via harddrake or other things should be eliminated. Harddrake should be used to tweak and modify or install NEW hardware, not used to finish an install. I could not get any sound to play during configuration via harddrake, in RC1 I would hear sound but would fail in the setup, with the same message others have posted before (busy or irq conflict) Konqueror as a web browser needs a little more work. When clicking on the Konqueror off of the task bar, it displays a blank GUI. It should display HOME or something. When I go to a web site via HTTPS and there is a JavaScript, the script displays a message that the field entered has characters and is not allowed. After further investigation, the JavaScript isNaN is returning true when you put in only number. ( This same panel works under Netscape). Konqueror should somehow display something that it is at a secure site. A user has no visual clue that they are in a secure site without looking at the address bar. Long and winded, sorry. 7.2 is great and MS still keeps pushing the bar forward. Keep it up. Bob
