There is a bug (a typo) in the preuninstall script for 
php-pgsql-4.0.3pl1-1mdk.i586.rpm (and earlier too):


  $perl -pi -e 's|^extension=pgsql.so|;extension=pgqsl.so|g' /etc/php.ini
                                                   ^^
                                                   ^^

This makes it problematic to upgrade the package because the preinstall 
script of the next version cannot uncomment the line...
