If you are using the "secure" module you will have a problem.

Here is what happens...

The installer installs Alsa soundcard modules in the
/lib/modules/2.2.17mdk driectory.

It configures the sound for Alsa module names.

It installs the secure kernel.

The secure kernel looks for modules in /lib/modules/2.2.17mdksecure.  (And
there are no Alsa kernel modules in that tree.)

Your options are to configure for the OSS sound module names (if those
will work for you) or get the Alsa source and install the modules in the
tree for the currently running kernel.
