Well tried doing a clean install again via FTP (DrakX 1.392, FTP
updated as of 19:00 GMT-6 from sunsite.uio.no). Most of the same
issues were there the only difference this time were the programs
that were reported as having install problems...
libGConf1, apache, libunicode0, XFree86-devel, libbonobo2,
gnome-print, libglib1.2-devel, ed, dialog, libpilot-link3, libcups1,
tetex, libefs, libcdda, ImageMagic-lib, ImageMagic, usermode, bonobo,
libgimp1.2_1, licq, libimlib1-devel, GConf, xli, t1lib1, strace.
I downloaded these and the bonobos and GConfs had dependency errors
the rest installed without a problem.
Also once installed and I logged in as root this message kept poping
up until I turned off mon.
<daemon.alert>mon[1050]: call alert mail.alert for servers/ping
(/usr/lib/mon/alert.d/mail.alert, root@localhost) which: no ping in
(/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin)
The file /etc/sysconfig/desktop also did not exist so I created it
with GNOME instead of KDE.
