I have the same problem with rpmdrake, but kpackage from
kdeadmin-2.1-0.20001228.1mdk works without difficulties with rpm-4.
rpmdrake hasn't been updated since some time and if you read the mails
concerning the missing fdio you can see that it's a known bug.
