I've encountered a serious error that I would like some advice on. After
installing cooker(kernel 2.4.1-7) on my system which happens to have a SCSI
AHA-2940U/UW card here is what I see when trying to boot:

...
scsi1 : Adaptec AHA274x/284x/294x (EISA/VLB/PCI-Fast SCSI) 5.2.2/5.2.0
        <Adaptex AIC-7895 Ultra SCSI host adapter>
  Vendor: Model: {garbage} Rev:
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 03
Attached scsi disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
sda: sector size 0 reported, assuming 512.
SCSI device sda: 1 512-byte hdwr sectors(0 MB)
Partition check:
sda: I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
unable to read partition table
VFS: Cannot open root device "801" or 08:01
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Undable to mount root fs on 08:01
...

I have seen this problem everytime I have tried kernel 2.4x. I'm really not
sure who to send this problem to. Could someone on the list please send this
bug report to the correct person. If anyone has advice to get me up and
running I would really be grateful.

Thanks,
Kip
