The 'old' 7.2 boot kernel is 2.2.27-21mdk which does not seem to
support IDE 2 & 3. This appears to be the one you use in the
current 7.2 and Cooker installers (?). IDE patches were introduced
in 25mdk and 26mdk. I am using the 2.2-17-28mdk kernel, my compile,
which I can assure you DOES support IDE 2 & 3 out of the box, and so
can see and use ATA100 disks on the Promise ATA100/Raid IDE 2 & 3
interface.

You should therefore strongly consider upgrading to this kernel for
the 7.2 and Cooker installers. Otherwise people with Promise
ATA100/Raid interfaces will download or spend their money only to
discover what they have is of no use. Customers treated like that
NEVER return and talk widely about their experience to everyone
except the vendor.
