And waste the mobo two channel IDE controller, that is perfectly fine to use
with CDROMs. In fact it is ideal for CD-to-CDR on the fly copy.

If you want 4 ATA66/100 IDE channels, the you should probably buy a four
channel controller instead of a 2 channel controller. I think they sell one.
Even, then, I still want my mobo controller available; why should I have only 4
ATA66/100 IDE channels, when I can have 6 (4 ATA66/100 + 2 whatever) IDE
channels. BTW, note this logic still apply if you got a motherboard with native
IDE plus emmbedded Promise chip, instead of the addon PCI card.
