I dunno why is it misdetecting it. It is just a 2940.
I retried in two boxes. Both are SuperMicro P6DGU. The CD boots, and
the first question is about inserting 3rd party modules. I ans '1' (no)
and then got another question that flies away and the list of modules.
lspci -v:
00:0e.0 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AHA-2940U2/W / 7890 (rev 01)
Subsystem: Adaptec 2940U2W SCSI Controller
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10
BIST result: 00
I/O ports at e800 [size=256]
Memory at febff000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K]
Expansion ROM at febc0000 [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 1
(note: the installer is that one in the ISOs recently announced; perhaps
you have corrected something since that build)
