Yes, you can aachieve this.
I do this with the command:

lftp -c 'open ftp.ciril.fr; cd pub/linux/mandrake-devel/cooker; mirror -n -e'

This command deletes all files on your place which are no more or not on the 
mirror.

But be carefull, to start it from the correct diretory (where you mirror 
place is) !!! Unfortunately I started the command from my hoem directory, and 
looking in the morning I found a new mirror tree on my computer and all other 
data of my home directory were deleted.
