I've noticed this problem too.  After I installed Mandrake 7.2 on my 
system, I noticed that MandrakeUpdate lists each package two times.  The 
same thing happens with rpmdrake-1.3-5mdk.  I have no idea why it does this.

It's good to know that someone else has noticed the problem.  I would 
definitely like to see it fixed!
