so I tried :
# rpm --rebuild screen-3.9.8-3mdk.src.rpm

# wget
ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/7.2/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/gpm-devel-1.19.3-3mdk.i586.rpm
# rpm -i gpm-devel-1.19.3-3mdk.i586.rpm
# rpm -i ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/7.2/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/utempter-devel*
and so I got :
...
make[2]: makeinfo: Command not found
...
exit 1
should screen.spec require texinfo/makeinfo ?
so I installed texinfo, rebuilt, installed :
# rpm -U /usr/src/RPM/RPMS/i686/screen-3.9.8-3mdk.i686.rpm
and I get the same results ! (No more TTYs.)
Help ! `screen' is essential !
