When packages had been installed, I responded to the dialog that offered
"setup dialup". "LAN", etc. by choosing "Setup dialup connectipn". This was
an upgrade, so I had previously configured dialup, but an empty dialog
appeared. I entered details of TTYS01 for modem, connection name, phone
number, login name and password, PAP and DNS numbers (all the details that
work for 7.2 and 7.1). There was no OK button as far as I remember so I
closed the dialog. When I checked it again it was empty.

So after rebooting I used Netconf (Linuxconf) to set it up and that failed to
connect. Tried `/sbin/ifup ppp0` from Konsole - no connection; no error
messages - until I give a [Crtl-C] - then "Failed to activate ppp0 with error
6" (as user) or "Failed to activate ppp0 with error 35" as root.
