OK, been a busy day for testing! Got sound (finally!) working on this machine, and of course can't debug without tunes.. so started XMMS. After a while the machine freezes up. Didn't suspect XMMS at first, however running it again later and looking with gtop after a while shows xmms using 90+ % of cpu time. Looking at the memory map showed almost half the available RAM taken up. Closing XMMS by telling it to quit still left running processes taking large amounts of cpu time, which could only be bumped off by killing the process. Very unusual to have the cooling fan on this machine kick into high when the computer isn't doing anything! Kill off the process, cpu load dropped way down, and the fan switched back off after like 15 seconds. Anyone else seen this? Vincent Meyer
