[Cooker] weird telnet server problem with latest cooker after running msec 3

when in.telnetd is started is exits with this error message.

[root@vulcan /usr/src/RPM/BUILD]# in.telnetd
in.telnetd: getpeername: Socket operation on non-socket

What does this mean and how can I fix it?
