I just attempted network install from current cooker tree. Here are the
various problems i found:
- no way of going back one step with keyboard
In case of an erroneous mouse configuration: tab and alt-tab change focus
only in center window, i didn't found a way to switch to left frame.
- some curious rpm groups
two WindowMaker group entries
gnome-core found in 'other' subdir of gnome group
- some missing dependancies and doubtul default install
db2, necessary for rpmtools was not installed
this crappy autologin is still present by default in 'expert' mode !!!
redhat configuration tools (sndconfig, linuxconf) installed by default
X11contribs-3.3.6 installed with XFree4
- I want more traktopel inside :-) !!! With legends please !
- 'summary' entry on left frame in french install !
- problems with local network configuration
As i used network install, all information were already present, else DNS
adress, that i had to enter again. And in final resolve.conf, there wasn't
any nameserver line.
Search domain are not configured
proxy entry is still cryptic : is http:// prefix needed ? Morevoer, my
/etc/profile.d/proxy.sh is empty.
Infinite loop after configuring local network : message 'mail configuration
not yet implemented', then return to initial window, with no 'finish"
button, and 'cancel' button is useless.
- fatal freeze after testing second network printer with cups, but i don't
have any idea why... nothing wrong in log screen. So ???
- heavy troubles with XFdrake
while i never had any problem with my NVidia on 7.1 and 7.2, here i
couldn't achieve configuration with XFdrake. Every test resulted in a
'server configuration problem' message. In initial try (graphical), it
exited properly. On subsequent try (console), display was corrupted, and no
choice confirmation available on menu screen. However, just using startx
worked properly...
