7.3,  heh.   I used to call my OS that until i heard about the 8.0 release.  
This gives me an idea.   Could MandrakeSoft release distributions using an 
even=stable, odd=devel scheme?  The Cooker would essentially be 
"$version-stable + .1", So we could distinguish a 10 month old version of 
'cooker' from a 'mandrake 8.1' distribution.  

I like the idea.   It would allow for some version inflation, without doing 
it pretentiously so.  :)

Any takers?
