I had the same problem with my MS Natural keyboard using USB.  It worked fine until the graphical install started then it quit.  Couldn't input anything from the keyboard at this point.  I had to go back to using it in the keyboard port.

Yes, in the boot stage the keyboard is working. It is when the screen
switches to graphics-mode and asks for the path of cooker that the
keyboard does not respond anymore.
