Hello -

Last night tried installing clean off of sunsite.uio.no.
Did an expert install, and noticed a few things and need help.

Looks like there are a lot of messages that scroll on console
three about missing packages after the list file loads but before
the window to select packages comes up on the installer screen. Is
this normal? There are a lot of them, too many to write down.

The package group icons are gone - is this normal now?

Everything loaded OK, I selected LILO with graphics as the
bootloader, with the video set to 1024 x 756. I still have to either
go into the ROM BIOS setup screen, or boot to windows to get the
video chip in the right mode for this to work. If I don't do that
it starts in text mode - but will NOT boot regardless of what is
entered - LINUX, FAILSAFE or WINDOWS. Machine locks, requiring
power down to unlock.

Now - here's the big problem. If I attempt to boot the system
in Linux, first complains bad video mode number, or something like
that. Never had a problem if I passed vga=791 at boot getting
the correct video mode.

Next, after loading the kernel, stops and ask me which run
level. Entering ANYTHING here results in the message "no more
processes in this run level" or something to that effect, and the
machine locks.

        HELP! please?

        Thanks,

        Vinny
