Hi Randy!

Hope message below (originally posted on kde-general ML) will help you.
As you have KDE 2.0 (not 2.1 Beta2) - I think install will be even less
painful for you.

Both of my 2 current setups based on LM 7.2 Expert-Minimal.
Note that audiofile is used both by KDE and Gnome.
So, you will have --nodeps on upgrading audiofile package if you have Gnome
installed.

| Thanks

First install libraries:
#rpm -Uvh libmng* libpng* libcdda* libbzip2* libaudiofile* libbinutils*
#rpm -Uvh libjpeg62* libtdl* libtool* libxpm4*
#rpm -Uvh zlib*
(I have splitted it in 3 lines, you can update in one line or each package
individually)

not sure if these packages are necessary but they were generated during SRPM
compilation:
#rpm audiofile* binutils* cdparanoia* bzip2*

then QT2:
#rpm -Uvh libqt2* qt2*
then kdesupport
#rpm -Uvh kdesupport*
kdelibs, arts:
#rpm -Uvh kdelibs* arts* libarts*

// people who were using KDE 2.1 Beta1 and Beta2, most likely already have
lesstif installed. if not (it's needed for Netscape plugins support in
Konqueror)
#rpm -Uvh lesstif*
(you can take lesstif from LM 7.2 distribution disks; I have compiled it from
sources, but this doesn't matter)

kdebase:
#rpm -Uvh kdebase*

--------------------------

I *do not* recommend upgrading via
#rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force *

As you can break something and have to re-install KDE 2.0 again.
Use --nodeps only when you are confident about it.

BTW: do not forget to update your xinitrc from /mandrake-devel/unsupported

Do you have Arial font installed? Just test it!
