<SIGH> After identifying the PING bug (see my previous, lengthy post), I thought I'd try solve it... so I grabbed the source (iputils) from cooker... that source is quite gross... :^P After playing with it for a while and comparing the outputs to the LM7.2 ping outputs, it became obvious that I must be dealing with different sources... Sure 'nuf... LM7.2 ping is in netkit-base-0.17 Cooker ping is in iputils The problem with this is that the LM7.2 ping seems to be a cleaned up version of the old one in iputils which appears to be what will be shipped with LM8.0... this means ping will take a step backwards... No?? At this rate, which one should I try to fix...? Pierre -- Linux (Up 28 days) -- Reboots are for system upgrades... not Windows X^P Last reboot reason: 02/14/01: testing startup changes for DSL
