Apparently this is generated when insmod from busybox receives a NULL
pointer to a malloc/realloc/calloc..

Can you verify that all your memory is detected by the kernel? Also if you
can try with kernel-2.2 (there was a problem related to grub indicating
the quantity of memory to kernel-2.4, but I don't know if it's fixed yet)
or with lilo.

Also, is it "rather" slow before this "memory_exhausted", indicating a
possible infinite loop?


Fuck it, all my tests on a scsi + loopback-rootfs machine with the new
mkinitrd worked :-(.
