Hello guys,
Just wanna let you know that there's this bug since v7.1 and not fixed
yet until 8.0 Beta 1. Mandrake 7.2 doesn't provide any fix for this
either. If I update an RPM package (with MandrakeUpdate or just urpmi)
that has /etc/rc.d/init.d entry that I _Have_ turned OFF, why does it
***always forces me to turn on the services again*** ???

Also another this is: servers still start by default. I've said about
this many times, nobody listens. Now I hope that services be turned off
by default. SuSE 7.1, Redhat 7.0, the next 7.1, BestLinux have already
turn off the services by default. 90% of people has been complaining and
no developer @ MandrakeSoft is willing to listen. This is a bad thing
for security, and someday I believe that someone will give ** _really
nasty_ proofs of concepts** if the network services are still turned on
by default (with the exception of ssh or webmin). I'm sorry, but this is
really unacceptable.

Oh well. I love Mandrake, but I don't want to be forced those services
that I have turned off again. It is super annoying. Ask everybody. Once
a developer said an excuse like "Oh ... but if I don't wanna run the
package, it won't be installed" is unjustifiable. I don't run web server
all the time, I just use it for testing, and I still do install the web
server anyway.

And, by the way, I will update the Mandrake Update Robot 0.9 by this
weekend, updated special for Cooker. The 0.9 is out already for 7.2.
I'll let Geoffrey know.

Bye,
