I understand konq is supposed to work with a few JREs now. The
only one it worked easily with was IBM's JRE. The only problem
is it couldn't show more than one java applet on a page without
bombing out and was really flaky.

Sun have released their latest JRE for linux 1.3.0_02.
I don't expect (or want) you to include it in the distribution
but I was wondering why it is so hard to get it to work with
konqueror. Sure I follow the instructions they give to the
letter but I still have to add a few symbolic links to
directories for it to work. I have it working now but not by
any obvious instructions.

Any thoughts on getting java to work with konqueror for the
default install? Kaffe doesn't quite cut the mustard.

Obviously if you aren't including a JRE you shouldn't have to
waste too much time trying to get it to work but it would be
nice for Mandrake to work well with a Java Run Time Environment
out of the box. The demand (I believe) is there.

Con.
