Just a suggestion here. I only have a 56k dialup connection and I download
at night. I just finished the 8.0 beta 2 download and now the mirrors have
beta 3. The only way my testing or comments (or others in the same situation)
can be of any use is to have faster access to the betas. If some of the
mirrors would carry separate rsync modules of each cd then the iso images
could be either loop mounted directly or burned on cd and mounted - then
the files copied to a directory and upgraded with rsync. Then all you would
need to do is remake the images with the correct switches for mkisofs which
could provided in a read me somewhere (not necessarily as part of the cd but
maybe in a parent directory on the server). This would use more space on the
servers but normally space isn't an issue compared with the much more
expensive time which this would save a lot of. Besides saving time more
people might be willing to try the downloads to give you more testers. How
about It?

ps -- This would also work for the upgrade from the beta to the final
version and if the first beta is pulled from cooker it would also save time
there .
