[Cooker] RPM kernel upgrades Howto?

All the stuff I can find about kernel upgrading or recompiling assumes one 
has the tarball of the new kernel.

Can someone point me to somewhere which explains howto use an rpm instead?
i.e. from 2.4.2-22 to 2.4.3-5 using
