Thanks for the walk-through, Gio. That's a keeper. One small point of which I am aware: you only need 'sh install.sh' when Grub has been lost (e.g. re-install Windows) or to install it initially. Adding the entry as you say to menu.lst of a working Grub is sufficient, in my experience....afaik. rolf
