Hey guys

After upgrading XFree86 and Nautilus today, I have found myself unable
to boot into Linux at all.

After running through the Aurora screens, and displaying the ASCII
penguin logo, I get an error message

INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

I can log into root at this prompt, but on trying to run startx, I get
the following messages:

xauth: error while loading shared libraries: lixXmu.so.6: cannot load
shared object file: no such file or directory

xauth: error while loading shared libraries: lixXmu.so.6: cannot load
shared object file: no such file or directory

xinit: error while loading shared libraries: lixXmu.so.6: cannot load
shared object file: no such file or directory

If anyone could please give me any advice on this, I would be very
grateful indeed, as it is obviously frustrating not to be able to boot
into Linux at all!

Thanks in advance

Giles
