Marcio Jose Conceicao talked about having trouble with his motherboard with
buildin SiS video and XF having a "bad look". I myself have (had) a previous
type motherboard from the same manufacturer with an even worse
videochip(SiS6326 if you want to know).
If i startx-ed from a framebuffered tty X would show big vertical, offcolored
bands. A very good prescription would be "bad look". It showed this only in
24bpp if my memory serves me correctly(read my post i made a few months back).
So to wrap it up.
