Figuring cooker to be a good thing I noticed that boot disks had been
updated. So I grabbed a new cdrom boot disk and did an install. Oddly
enough after selecting partitions ( and telling the installer I had a
PS/2 mouse ) the mouse started working. ( TPA20p )

Got to the networking selection told it dhcp, but then it said it
couldn't find my ethernet card ( builtin EtherExpress Pro100 with Xircom
modem ). Rebooted and no mouse and no network... Argh!

Attached output from dmesg and lspci -vv

What happened between beta3 and RC1 that broke think pads?
