[Cooker] rpm --eval howto?

$ rpm --eval ${RPM_OPT_FLAGS}
--eval: missing argument

$ rpm --help | grep eval
    --eval '<name>+'       - print the expansion of macro <name> to stdout

I am sure it used to work.
