[Cooker] Experience with USB IDE adapters

I need some way to transfer fairly large volumes between two distant PCs
and USB IDE adapters look like the cheapest solution. I plan to use either
HD or CD-RW (or, possibly, both). Are they supported by Mdk8? There is
module usb-storage that sounds nice :-)

Any experience?
