I've been running kernel-2.4.3-22mdk.i586.rpm since 14:34 yesterday, i.e.
23hr:30min. My hardware is:

        Pentium III 500mhz, 256mb
        ASSU P2B-S (includes AIC7890 Rev 2.11)
                Fujitsu 18GB SCSI hard drive
HP SureStore DAT24i SCSI tape drive
        etc.

Based on reports of scsi tape problems on Linux-Kernel Mailing List, I
wrote a script to writes a 320MB file and reads it 5 times. md5 checksums
are computed for the original file and each of the 5 reads. After 16
cycles (5 or so hours), every checksum is the same, i.e. scsi writing and
reading is working perfectly (AFAIK).

Conclusion: The AIC 6.1.11 driver is a winner.
