I couldnt' see the progressbar when I was doing updates.. I found that there is an update to rpmdrake.. but it also didn't completely solve the situation.. Here is the output on the console when I tried to install a RPM. Seems the percentatge is not between 0.0 and 1.0.. [root@tp17]# rpmdrake extracting xosview-1.7.3-10mdk.i586 extracting xosview-1.7.3-10mdk.i586 installing ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/8.0/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/xosview-1.7.3-10mdk.i586.rpm 'ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/8.0/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/xosview-1.7.3-10mdk.i586.rpm' Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkprogress.c: line 518 (gtk_progress_set_percentage): assertion `percentage >= 0 && percentage <= 1.0' failed. Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkprogress.c: line 518 (gtk_progress_set_percentage): assertion `percentage >= 0 && percentage <= 1.0' failed. [root@tp17]# Also, there is no description on the updates. The info on the right side is of the RPM package and dosn't tell anything about the update. MandrakeUpdate used to give information about the update. Please add that. Other bugs: -I selected the updates, then added another RPM source, the package list got reloaded.. now I could still see the updates I had selected in the "selected" box.. now I said install and it game erros that package not found .. the package name etc. was all corrupted.. I clicked on the packages in the selected box and the name, description etc. was all corrupted. there was also no way to remove the selection.. I had to close RPMDrake and reopen it and reselect the packages adn then clicked install. -If I chosee another RPM source which has same RPMs as the CDs I have, then I get all entries twice. selecting on any of the two entries always defaults to the first source. I think the best solution would be to have one entry per package. If a package can be installed from two sources, then when the user selects a package for installation, he/she should be asked from where he/she wants to install it. Also, some packages names in the list are displayed with grey background and some with white bg.. whats' the difference? sarang
