I just did fresh cooker install with reiser for root and ended up with
panic "cannot nount root" because initrd was not created. Initrd is ext2,
you know ... :-) See here:
grep initrd ddebug.log
...
* running: mkinitrd -f /boot/initrd-2.4.3-25mdk.img --ifneeded 2.4.3-25mdk
with
root /mnt
mke2fs 1.19, 13-Jul-2000 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
/tmp/initrd.img.YvNIS8: Unknown code P3p 193 while setting up superblock
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
or too many mounted file systems
Can't get a loopback device
I wish, I *really* wish reiser should be built-in. It is just way too
dangerous to have root fs as module that you may not be able to load ...
And if you have only cooker, you have no chance to correct it because you
have only broken version.
